Shopping security
The security of payments made when using our shop is supervised by PayU S.A. and PayPal. Since we value our credibility, all information about the products we offer, the conditions of order completion, the method of accepting returns and complaints, as well as all data concerning our company - is given with great reliability and responsibility.
Purchases handled by PayPal and PayU are characterised by the highest level of security. The latest data encryption methods, combined with a world-class hardware platform, guarantee reliable protection for the transactions carried out.
PayU
Clearing agent
PayU S.A. was granted the status of a Settlement Agent by the decision of the President of the National Bank of Poland of 15 June 2007. To this end, it met a number of requirements, which are set out in detail in the Act on Electronic Payment Instruments (Journal of Laws of 11 October 2002, No. 169, item 1385, as amended).
The Settlement Agent is supervised by the President of the National Bank of Poland. This obliges it to report the current status of monetary settlements to the NBP. The information reported in accordance with statutory requirements should include, inter alia, the number of merchants, the number and value of transactions carried out, as well as the number of successful and unsuccessful attempts to carry out transactions in breach of the law or fair trading rules (e.g. transactions using stolen or lost payment cards).
The contracts that shops or websites conclude with the Settlement Agent provide a guarantee of clear settlement procedures and ensure the security of the transactions carried out.
Transmission of information
Data transmission on websites cooperating with Platnosci.pl is carried out using the SSL EV (Extended Validation Secure Sockets Layer) protocol which provides the highest standard for identity authentication. Additionally, it is possible to encrypt information exchanged between an online shop or service and a Customer.
Protection against infringing transactions
The purchase of goods or services using a payment card is associated with high risk. PayU S.A. has many years of experience in this type of payments. The acquired knowledge has allowed us to reduce the rate of suspicious transactions from 40% to 0.02%. As a result, we are able to offer Platnosci.pl users a unique functionality, i.e. a chargeback guarantee assuming financial liability for transactions made using stolen or lost payment cards.
In addition, all transactions handled by Platnosci.pl are monitored and their correct processing is supervised by a specialised Security Section as well as a professional User Service Department.
3D-Secure
The 3D-Secure technology we use to process payments helps us to improve the security of online transactions. It is based on adequate verification of payment cards prior to use, during which the cardholder confirms their identity using a special password. Subsequent authorisation of the card is the same as for transactions not protected by 3D-Secure technology.
PayPal
PayPal is one of the world's most secure payment platforms. More than 10 years of experience in the online payment sector has resulted in the development of effective data protection methods. Whether you are selling, buying or transferring money - your financial data (account and card numbers) are safe with us because they are stored in encrypted form on our secure servers. This ensures that you do not have to share them with the person receiving or sending the payment. For even greater security, all transactions are monitored 24/7 by a team of security specialists. Their job is to identify suspicious activity and behaviour and protect our users from unauthorised transactions. If, despite our preventative measures, your transaction does not go as planned or you have any concerns about your online security, phishing breaches, you can easily report the problem and get help. In addition, both sellers and buyers are covered by a protection programme in accordance with the provisions described in our policies and the User Agreement.
Protection of buyers
If an item purchased online did not reach you or significantly does not match the description, we will refund your costs. Buyer protection covers goods purchased on eBay and items purchased online and paid for via PayPal. Protection also applies to payments made on PayPal.
What items are protected? Protection covers physical items that can be sent by post and whose sale is not prohibited by law. Examples of when an item you have received significantly differs from its description are: you bought a book and you received a film, you bought a new item and you received a used one, you ordered 3 items and you received 2, the item was damaged during delivery, the delivered item is missing a part (which the seller did not inform you about), you bought an original item and you received a fake one. If the seller described the item correctly and your dissatisfaction is because you do not like the item, PayPal protection does not apply.
What is not protected? PayPal's buyer protection programme does not cover certain items, including but not limited to: digital goods, services, vehicles, custom-made items, and items that do not comply with our policies or applicable laws. Protection does not apply to items purchased in person (not online) or money sent to family or friends.
How does the protection process work? In order to initiate the buyer protection process, you must open a dispute within 45 days from the date the payment was sent. If the seller does not offer you a satisfactory solution, you must convert the dispute into a claim. You have 20 days to do this from the time you open the dispute. By converting the dispute into a claim, you acknowledge that it is impossible to find an amicable solution and ask PayPal to resolve the matter. Once we have reviewed the situation presented, we will make a decision based on the information we have gathered and PayPal's policies.
