Mass (Carat)
The weight of diamonds is given in carats. One carat is 0.2 grams. A carat is a unit that divides into 100 points, so a 10-point diamond, for example, will have a weight of 1/10 carat, generally denoted as 0.10 ct.
Clarity
All diamonds bear traces of their centuries-long development. Microscopic inclusions, also known as 'inclusions', are an intrinsic feature of gemstones. The clarity scale reflects the size, number and location of the impurities in the stone visible under 10x magnification. The best and also rarest diamonds are described as being clean under a magnifying glass. However, stones in which inclusions remain invisible to the naked eye are also considered very valuable.
Colour
Most diamonds have a delicate yellowish or brownish colouration. The colour is determined according to a special scale using a series of comparison stones,. The whiter the diamond, the higher its value. Exceptions are stones with very intense colours: pink, blue, yellow... The term fancy colour is used for stones whose colour is natural, not achieved by artificial colouring technology.
Cut
A brilliant is a diamond with a brilliant cut or round cut. Diamonds with other cuts are defined according to their shape as emerald cut, oval, marquise, pear, heart, princess cut. The quality of a diamond's cut is crucial to its brilliance. It should bring out the best aesthetic qualities in the stone. A full cut consists of 58 surfaces (56 facets, pave and pave). A bad cut reduces the value of a diamond by up to half. The evaluation of the cut is the most difficult part of the stone valuation process and at the same time the most important, as it is the cut that reveals the dormant beauty in the diamond.
